Aug 4, 2023 · The arms are based on the arms of the Knight Floria Geyer, born in Giebelstadt in 1490. He was an important diplomat and the leader of the so-called Black troops in the farmer's revolt in 1525. He is still honoured in the town by the Florian Geyer festival, which was first held in 1925.
