When it comes to jaw-dropping landscapes, quaint small towns, and enchanting cities that perfectly blend the past, present, and future, nowhere does it quite like Switzerland.
- Jungfrau. Best for outdoor activities. The idyllic Jungfrau region is the icing on the Alpine cake of Switzerland’s Bernese Oberland. Sky-high peaks, glaciers and thundering falls elicit gasps of wonder wherever you go.
- Bern. Best for stepping back in time. Bern often pops up in those I-can’t-believe-it’s-the-capital trivia questions, but frankly, Switzerland’s first city deserves more love.
- Geneva and Lake Geneva. Best for a cosmopolitan city experience. In Switzerland’s western crook, crescent-shaped Lake Geneva (Lac Léman to Francophones) is a joy to behold with its mountain backdrop, spirit-lifting views, vineyards and shoreline necklaced with handsome cities and castle-crowned towns.

- Lucerne. Like so many Swiss cities, pretty, walkable Lucerne occupies a magnificent setting—this time on Lake Lucerne with the Alps as a backdrop. The 14th-century wooden Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke) is one of the most photographed sights in Switzerland, and Lucern's medieval Altstadt (Old Town) looks much the same as it did hundreds of years ago.
- Lake Geneva & Jet d’Eau. Geneva is located on the shores of the Rhone river and the stunning Lake Geneva, so you should definitely take advantage of that.
- Old Town. There are actually lots of different things to see in the old town of Geneva, but before we get to those I wanted to highlight the old town as a destination of its own.
- Geneva Flower Clock & English Garden. Another famous landmark and one of the most must-see tourist attractions in Geneva is the famous flower clock, L’horloge fleurie.
- St Peter’s Cathedral. Cathédrale St-Pierre is one of the main points of interest in Geneva’s old town. Built in the 12th-13th centuries and partially rebuilt later, it’s a huge building tightly wedged in amongst the old town.
