Most interesting fact is though, that it is not owned by the Church but by the citizens of Kirkwall given to them by James III in 1468. The cathedral has also a dungeon, which we didn’t see though.

It has an interesting history and there is St Magnus information centre and gift shop at the back of the cemetery which is very helpful. I highly recommend a visit to this beautiful building.
