United Synagogue of America (USA), central federation of some 835 Conservative Jewish congregations located in the United States and Canada. It was organized in 1913 by Solomon Schechter, a Talmudic scholar and spokesman for the Conservative movement. To assist and increase individual participation.

Dr. Schechter considered The United Synagogue to be "the greatest bequest that I shall leave to American Israel." Today, it encompasses approximately 800 affiliated congregations, representing some 1.5 million members.
The United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, founded in 1913 as the United Synagogue of America, is the association of Conservative congregations in North America, today consisting of approximately 700 affiliated synagogues. United Synagogue is a grassroots organization.
