The nose starts off with thick notes of chocolate covered raisins and grain. It is delightfully sweet, and makes me think of the bowl of chocolate covered raisins my grandma would keep by the TV. Warm spices like cinnamon appear, paired with other dark, dried fruits like prunes.
The body is medium-thick. Sherry and orange play a huge role in the palate. You can definitely tell that it was finished in Oloroso Sherry Casks because of the notes of dark, dried fruits and wood spices.The depth of flavors is wonderful and makes you want to keep on sipping it.
The finish is medium and is filled with notes of dried dark fruits, walnuts, and spiced orange. It coats the entire palate, especially the roof of the mouth.
I love this! This is one that I have not given a fair shot to before, and I’m glad I am trying it now. I think for the price it is really good whisky, and should not be overlooked.
