- Don’t expect to laze on the beach… although you can! While Dominica has plenty of lovely beaches, due to it’s volcanic origins, the majority of the island’s beaches have black, brown and silver sand.
- Dominica is NOT the Dominican Republic. Not even close! I feel like an idiot for writing this, but when I told people I was visiting Dominica, they thought I meant the Dominican Republic… or that Dominica was the capital of the DR!
