May 16, 2024 · 1. Climb the city's hills. Lyon’s two hills are known as the working hill (Croix-Rousse) and the praying hill (Fourvière), the former being the old silk-weaving district (hence the "working") and the latter crowned by Fourvière Basilica . The views from both are spectacular.
