Three teams would use the name Justice League in the early 1990s: Justice League America (led by Wonder Woman), Justice League Task Force (led by the Martian Manhunter), and Extreme Justice (led by Captain Atom).

- Martian Manhunter. The first time the Justice League teamed up was to battle aliens from a planet known as Appellax. The storyline had different aliens battling for the rule of their home planet, with whoever could conquer Earth winning that role.
- Aquaman. The second person to show up in the Justice League origin story was Aquaman. Martian Manhunter was taken captive, and Aquaman was in the oceans when a fish arrived and told him that his fellow fish had been turned to glass by aliens.
- Wonder Woman. The next member to join was Wonder Woman. She saw the aliens attacking Paradise Island and failed to stop them on her own. She showed up almost at the same time as Aquaman.
- Green Lantern. While Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman were battling to save the Earth from the invasion. Green Lantern was not on the planet.
- Superman and the Justice League. Superman is born on an alien planet full of power struggles between mighty families. His parents, Jor-el and Lara, send him away to Earth in a spaceship as a baby when Krypton is set to explode.
- Batman. Batman is the opposite of Superman, in terms of powers. Superman is born with all of his powers from day one. Batman, on the other hand, is born with and possess no inherent powers.

- The Flash. Barry Allen is a chemist who works for the police. He works as a forensic chemist, but always chooses his job over personal life. He runs late, works slowly, and falls behind all the time due to work.
