Apr 13, 2020 · Rod Ferrell was a 16 year old boy from Murray, Kentucky whose delusions led him to lead a ritualistic cult and brutally murder a fourteen year old member's parents in their home. He was the youngest person to be on death row until his sentence was reduced to life in prison with no parole.
The Cult are an English hard rock band from Bradford. Formed in April 1983, the group were originally known as SOUTHERN Death Cult, then Death Cult and finally, The Cult. They featured vocalist Ian Astbury, guitarist Billy Duffy, bassist Jamie Stewart and drummer Ray "Mondo" Taylor-Smith.
- Dance Of Death. In a strange, bizarre, and seemingly suitable and fitting fashion, as Rod and Scott stood over the soon-to-be-dead Mr. Richard Wendorf, they glanced at each other.
- Court Spectacle. The Ferrell court case would become an American spectacle, with the cult members looking like a crazed band of vampiric, gothic teens straight from Hell.
- The Crowbar Murders. That is when Rod made his mind up that he had to murder Richard Wendorf. Rod Ferrell seemed to have taken a play straight out of Ted Bundy’s playbook when he found a crowbar that he had planned on using to defend himself “just in case” Mr. Wendorf attacked him.
- The Victims. The victims were a quiet elderly couple named Naomi Ruth Queen and Richard Wendorf. The Wendorfs were at home, sleeping, one fateful evening in November 1996 when Rod and Scott entered the home.
Jan 30, 2024 · Ian Astbury saw the writing on the wall for Southern Death Cult well before he rocked up at Billy Duffy’s flat in Brixton. His band appeared on the cover of the NME in October 1982, before they’d even released a single. The CBS label, home of The Clash and Adam And The Ants, had offered them a deal worth $100,000.
