Garvey knew that someone had run a sample of the DNA of the bones through CODIS looking for a match. We saw Garvey's men find Pete and took the suitcase along with Tom and Lena. I would assume Garvey was able to track Pete because he had run the search from his apartment and knew his name.
May 17, 2018 · As you'll recall from last week, both Red and Liz tracked down footage of who Ian Garvey delivered the bag o' bones to in Costa Rica: Max Birmingham.
Garvey had a personal connection to the original Reddington (probably close friends from the naval academy, based on his ring). He wants to know what happened on the night of the fire, and possibly wants revenge on our fake Red if he was responsible for the original Reddington's death.

How did the police find the farmhouse?If Tom was suspected missing, why didn't they trace his mobile phone? It was on and connected, since it rang in the motel room when Keen called it.

Jennifer showed Liz a DNA report that made Liz be convinced that the bones were the remains of their father, Raymond Reddington. Dembe and Red know how those bones would be identified. Sutton Ross, Ian Garvey and Tom saw the report that was seen in Garvey's barn. Pete introduced DNA and got a match in CODIS.
