Oct 29, 2018 · There are three main categories of players in the game of entrepreneurship: sellouts, hustlers, and lucky folks. Players are those who get to show up every day and do their thing (or try to). A sellout is a pretty dirty word. In some circles, hustler used to be, too, but by and large is no longer.
I need some intelligent opinions on "sellouts." I saw a GAP commercial on YouTube featuring one of my favorite bands, the Avett Brothers. All the comments were bashing them saying they were sellouts, and it got me thinking. Is there such a thing as a sellout?

Oct 22, 2014 · Amazon bought my business and it became (to me, I'll qualify) a boring retailer. When you see a sellout occurring on a product, we've done our job. Market clearing price was realized. When you see us offer a smaller quantity event, it is because we found the deal quality to make up for the quantity.
In idiomatic use, sellouts are people affiliated with a person or group (who typically have subordinate social status) who are perceived to have betrayed that person or group, their interests, and/or an ideology or cause. To sell out is to betray a group and/or cause.
