WikiProject Record Labels is a project intended to improve articles on record labels and people (non-artists) involved with labels, i.e. founders and owners. The goal is to make the record label-related articles provide basic information in a quick and easy-to-read fashion.

This department focuses on assessing the quality of Wikipedia's articles related to record labels. While much of the work is done in conjunction with the WP:1.0 program, the article ratings are also used within the project itself to aid in recognizing excellent contributions and identifying topics in need of further work.

There seems to be not much activity going on with this particular project. With the online music world and digital distribution becoming such a major factor in today's music industry, it is suggested to start cataloging as many record labels as possible on Wikipedia.
