Wolfger von Erla (auch Wolfger von Passau, voller Name Wolfger von Ellenbrechtskirchen; * um 1140 bei Erla an der Enns; † 23. Januar 1218 in Aquileia) war Bischof von Passau und Patriarch von Aquileia .
Wolfger von Erla, known in Italian as Volchero (c. 1140 – 23 January 1218), was the Bishop of Passau from 1191 until 1204 and Patriarch of Aquileia thereafter until his death. He was renowned in his own time as a diplomat and peacemaker.
Walther von der Vogelweide. Through Wolfger von Erla there is also a very close connection to Walther von der Vogelweide, the most important German poet and singer of the Middle Ages. The latter stayed in Zeiselmauer on 12 November 1203 as a guest in the bishop’s palace.
