The Butterfly Effect is a movie that needed to be handled by someone with a little more experience. Sure, Nolan would be a fantastic choice but simply giving this script (again, with some rewrites) to a more experienced director would have made this movie a lot better.

Sam Reide has the ability of traveling to the past and works with the police department solving unresolved crimes, witnessing the events with the support of his sister, Jenna Reide and reporting the criminal's identity to detective Dan Glenn.
