A) it’s an open top convertible so sound quality isn’t really possible. B) you have to have amplifier sound to get a decent threshold - so NO - the stock head isn’t going to power higher wattage speakers well. Hands down one of the best car stereo options for the Miata is the Kenwood KAC-M1824 Bluetooth amplifier.

Mar 8, 2010 · Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has tried out the 3rd millennium headrest speaker retrofit kit, since mine is an M-edition I have different circular type speakers versus the normal rectangular ones. Also the 3rd millennium M-800 speakers. Any experiences? Or just any other advice I can use to make the audio in my Miata better, I have a 97 M.
