A Child's Garden of Verses is an 1885 volume of 64 poems for children by the Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson. It has been reprinted many times, often in illustrated versions, and is considered to be one of the most influential children's works of the 19th century.

A Child’s Garden of Verses, volume of 64 poems for children by Robert Louis Stevenson, published in 1885. The collection, which Stevenson dedicated to Alison Cunningham (his childhood nurse), was one of the most influential children’s works in the 19th century, and its verses were widely imitated.

A Child’s Garden of Verses is a book of poetry for children. Stevenson dedicated the poems to his nurse Cummy (Alison Cunningham), who cared for him during his many childhood illnesses. The collection includes some of Stevenson’s most famous poems, including “The Land of Counterpane”, “My Shadow and “The Lamplighter”.
