Aitutaki, also traditionally known as Araʻura and Utataki, [3] is the second most-populated island in the Cook Islands, after Rarotonga. It is an "almost atoll", with fifteen islets in a lagoon adjacent to the main island. Total land area is 18.05 km 2 (6.97 sq mi), and the lagoon has an area of between 50 and 74 km 2 (19 and 29 sq mi).
A little paradise means Aitutaki, home to approximately 1800 people and the world’s most beautiful lagoon. It's only 220 kilometres or a 50-minute flight from Rarotonga. Secluded and romantic, 15 motus (islets) are sprinkled across this huge turquoise, sunlit lagoon. After Rarotonga, Aitutaki is our second most visited island in the Cook Islands.

May 29, 2020 · The best time to visit Aitutaki Lagoon. The weather on Aitutaki Island is beautiful all year round – hot, humid and sunny. However, it is much hotter and rainier in the summer that the rest of the year. The rainy seasons runs from late January to April . This means the best time to visit the Cook Islands is from May to October.
Mar 28, 2024 · Puffy’s. Puffy’s is known for the best fish & chips on Aitutaki, but we can’t say for sure because we didn’t eat at every restaurant in Aitutaki. Every Friday night Puffy’s has an Aitutaki island night for $55 per person. It’s a great location, right on the beach and a great spot for sunset. Main prices $20-$30.
