Arrest: Ben Gazzara and his original partner, Paul Carr, conduct an interrogation in the series pilot. But Gazzara must have felt passionately about the originality of his character to take time off from a burgeoning theatre and film career and devote a year to series television.
A heroin-addicted nightclub comic is arrested on a drug-related homicide, and at his trial he intends to challenge the state's anti-narcotic laws.
