The Anzac Memorial is a heritage-listed war memorial, museum and monument located in Hyde Park South near Liverpool Street in the CBD of Sydney, Australia. The Art Deco monument was designed by C. Bruce Dellit , with the exterior adorned with monumental figural reliefs and sculptures by Rayner Hoff , and built from 1932 to 1934 by Kell & Rigby .
29 May. — 1900. 1st and 2nd Victorian Mounted Rifles were in action at Witwatersrand, near Johannesburg, South Africa, during the Boer War. — 1915. QUINN’S POST, the most advanced of the ANZAC positions on GALLIPOLI, was attacked by Turkish troops who gained a foothold on the position. They were repelled after ferocious fighting.
The Anzac Memorial was intended to be a memorial to all Australians who lost their lives in service during the First World War, not just the soldiers from the Gallipoli campaign to whom the term “Anzac” was first attached.

The Memorial Building in both its original and its extended form is a work of art and a remarkable piece of architecture.
Hyde Park is Australia's oldest park. Divided by Park Street, the southern section of Hyde Park contains the ANZAC Memorial building and visitor centre, the pool of reflection and numerous monuments and statues.
