I used to watch a lot of anti-MLM YouTube, and I remember this brand. I believe they try to get into stores so that the brand seems more legitimate, get people to try out the products, then try to make them buy from the MLM side eventually.

I did a little bit of research and couldn't find a whole lot of dirt about Beautycounter specifically. Their income disclosure looks similar to that of other MLMs and they have a $50 annual consultant fee.
