Oct 12, 2023 · February 1, 2024 - February 9, 2025, Walker Gallery. This exhibition draws from artworks at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art and explores the origins of Etruscan civilization, contacts with the Phoenicians, Greeks, and contemporary cultures in ancient Italy, and their wider legacy.

Housed in a Charles Follen McKim-designed building of 1891-94 and renovated by Machado and Silvetti Associates in 2007, the collection numbers over 17,000 objects including ancient, European, American, non-Western, modern, and contemporary art. 14 galleries feature both dynamic changing exhibitions and selections from the collections.
The Bowdoin College Museum of Art is one of the finest college art museums in the nation. With a collection that began with a bequest from the College’s founder in 1811, it is also one of the oldest collegiate art museums in the United States.

The American collection, also amazing, includes works by Gilbert Stuart, Robert Feke, John Copley, Thomas Sully, Mary Cassatt, Thomas Eakins, John Sloan, Andrew Wyeth, and items from Winslow Homer’s studio in Maine.
