you can see much in an hour but two hours is better. Hi. I would say at least 1 hour in the castle if you like to stop and read the information and 30 - 45 minutes in the gardens if you enjoy gardens. There is also a nice tea room where we spent a further 30 minutes.
Inveraray castle is a beautiful castle in beautiful grounds. It is part of clan Campbell. Queen Victoria's daughter married into the family, so there was lots of history in the castle. It has been used for filming Downton Abbey Christmas special and other stuff. The tour guide is very knowledgeable.
