Columbia University Commencement of the 270th academic year will now include two ceremonies, morning and evening, to accommodate our growing student body and community. This new schedule will ensure a smooth guest and graduate experience both leading up to and on commencement day.

Each of Columbia's nineteen schools, colleges, and affiliate institutions, hold their own school ceremony (sometimes called a graduation ceremony or Class Day) where each graduate has the opportunity to be announced and walk across the stage.
Graduation and Diplomas. Degrees are awarded in October, February and May and, for some Health Sciences programs, June. Every candidate, regardless of graduation date, is invited to participate in the May Commencement ceremony.
