David Parfitt (b.1943) Royal College of Art. Painter, draughtsman and teacher, born at Pontypool, Monmouthshire, who grew up in Blaenavon, then a mining town at the head of the Afon Lwyd Valley. His early paintings were of family, friends and the gaunt mountains and industry valleys of south Wales.
