2015–2016: Debut with WJSN, Y TEEN
She was revealed as a member of WJSN on December 10, 2015 as part of the group's Wonder Unit. The group officially debuted on February 25, 2016 with their first mini album Would You Like?. On August 6, she debuted as a member of the project group Y TEEN with the digital single "Do Better".
2020: Acting debut, WJSN CHOCOME
On June 9, 2020, it was announced Dayoung will be making her acting debut through the Kakao Talk TV drama Love Revolution. On September 25, 2020, she was revealed as a member of WJSN's first sub-unit, WJSN CHOCOME. The unit officially debuted on October 7 with the single album "Hmph!".

Dayoung attended SOPA (School Of Performing Arts) Seoul and graduated on February 9, 2018.

On April 24, 2021, Starship Entertainment announced that Dayoung would be taking a break from all activities due to a severe auto-immune disease.
