If you were to view it in the time it came out, I think your general feeling is that it's an okay remake of paranormal activity 1. But if you view it now, it becomes a very boring run-of-the-mill found footage movie.
My question is why did the camera turn and focus on an area immediately prior to some type of paranormal occurrence? I mean, it's almost as if that camera knew something weird was going to happen. There are only two possibilities here; either the camera has psychic powers or this is a hoax.
