G.I. Blues: Directed by Norman Taurog. With Elvis Presley, Juliet Prowse, Robert Ivers, James Douglas. Tulsa McLean, a soldier with dreams of running his own nightclub, places a bet with his friend Dynamite that he can win the heart of an untouchable dancer.
Elvis had little liking for most of the other numbers that had been submitted, and even less for the insipid plot line and character that he played. Nonetheless, he delivered a smoothly professional (if somewhat detached) performance.
