Background: FilmDistrict was an American multi-thread production and film distribution company founded in July 2004 by Peter Schlessel and Bob Berney. In 2010, GK Films acquired Filmdistrict. Logo: Against an orange dark sky with rolling clouds, we see the word "FILMDISTRICT" in Chisel Wide on a slanted black square. The logo zooms in slowly.

Variant: On the trailer for Insidious, the logo is tinted red.

FX/SFX: The word zooming in, clouds moving. Done by Technicolor Animation Studios in July 2004.

Music/Sounds: The opening theme of the trailer.

Nickname: "The City of the Future"

Logo: We start in an empty hall and move through the window. There we see a huge city with skyscrapers and several film scenes, sometimes varying, on their walls passing by. The camera flies down to the street full of cars and move along the ground to reveal a lighted square, and above the square fading in is a black square and a "window" of the interior of a majestic cathedral, with the word "FILMDISTRICT" at the bottom of the "window". During the logo's last seconds, the camera slowly pans up showing the cathedral "window" move seamlessly along with the rest of the scene.

FX/SFX: The scenes, the camera moving, and the logo fading in, all in absolutely wonderful CGI animation! Thank you, Spypost!

Variants: Mikros Image re-animated the logo in 2019.

Music/Sounds: A majestic but calm fanfare as composed by Joseph Bishara.

Availability: Uncommon. Seen on Insidious, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, Drive, and The Rum Diary, among others. The last film to have this logo was Pompeii.
