The title card is displayed as the camera's viewpoint descends from the sky, through masses of grey clouds and smoke.

Several scenes depicting wartimes are quickly shown. A deserted base and watchtower stand idle as a large explosion is set off in the distance. A naval fleet is seen next under heavy bombardment. A row of Marleyan soldiers, presumably from the mainland, all fire explosive shells from mortars.

For a split second, a structure resembling a large spine can be seen erupting from a crimson, fleshy background.

More explosives are set off in the background as the previous scenes begin to repeat - soldiers fire more shells from their mortars, the naval fleet is obliterated, and the military base from earlier is consumed by the oncoming blast. A soldier, armed with a flamethrower, begins incinerating the remains of a demolished structure. Scenes of large explosions continue to play.

The camera then pans down from the sky, revealing thirteen birds diving down with colorful strands trailing from their bodies. The gray, occluded sky is shown as colorful smoke begins creeping in from the sides.

Rows of armed Marleyan soldiers begin marching down the streets of Marley, with faces tilted towards the camera. A zeppelin hovers through the sky as twelve birds fly alongside it.

•This is the only opening in the series to not feature any major human characters.

•The "Rastis!" lyrics at the end of the song were initially interpreted by many listeners to be the word "monster".

  6. One thing that keeps confusing me is what Willy Tybur’s true intentions were. His plan was fairly straightforward: Use himself and the Marley military brass as bait to scapegoat Eren into massacring Liberio, thus uniting the world against the dire threat of Paradis and taking the heat of Marley’s reputation as a brutal imperialist regime.
