Monk and aspiring poet Brother Gilbert witnesses Bowen's prowess and follows him to record his exploits. Bowen stalks a dragon to its cave, not knowing it's the one who shared his heart with Einon.
Sir John Gielgud. Plot – Many centuries ago, the knight Bowen and the dragon Draco fought a heroic battle to release the country from the dominion of a ferocious ruler, the young Einon. Bowen has been Einon's tutor since he was a child, while Draco has given half of its heart to save him.
Royal physicians prepare to work on saving Einon, who is crying in pain, but Einon's mother, Queen Aislinn (Julie Christie), orders them all out except for Bowen. As Aislinn examines her son's wound, Bowen says Einon is beyond all help. Aislinn looks at a small statue of a dragon and says, "Not all."
