The Original Heidelberg Platen Press was a letterpress printing press manufactured by the Heidelberger Druckmaschinen company in Germany. It was often referred to as the Heidelberg Windmill, after the shape and movement of its paper feed system.
Heidelberg produces equipment for prepress, press and postpress. Heidelberg is particularly well known in letterpress circles for the Original Heidelberg Platen Press, commonly known as the "Windmill" after the rotating arms of the paper feed mechanism. It was both power-driven and power-fed.
