Mitchell Drinkwell-Deveraux (né Deveraux) is the son of Martine Deveraux and Felix Westwood, the triplet brother of Toby and Celeste Faroe, the half-brother of DeMarcus Westwood, the grandson of Walter Deveraux and the ex-husband of Scott Drinkwell. He worked as a junior doctor at Dee Valley University Hospital.
1994-2019: Early Life
Mitchell was one of three children born to Martine Deveraux and Felix Westwood on 10th March 1994. Felix sold the other two children to doctor Ramsey Ley, who rejected Mitchell as he was not expected to survive. Martine's father Walter paid Felix to leave his family alone whilst Martine couldn't face raising a son at such a young age and left him to become a flight attendant, so Walter and his wife Gloria raised Mitchell. As a result. Mitchell inherited most of Walter's ideologies and faith.
2019: Arrival and Sexuality
Mitchell arrived in Hollyoaks with Walter in February 2019, moving into 5 Oakdale Drive, Flat 3 where Martine was already residing, having found work as a junior doctor at Dee Valley University Hospital. With a secret side-gig as a stripper, Cleo McQueen was left smitten when Mitchell served as the stripper at The Dog in the Pond's theme night. After she fell down the stairs, Mitchell treated her in hospital and wrote his number on her bandage. The pair began dating and Mitchell was left thrilled when Walter eventually came round to liking her. However, things became complicated when Mitchell befriended Cleo's ex-fiancé Joel Dexter, until Mitchell admitted that he felt like the rebound and Cleo put him straight. Cleo grew increasingly uncomfortable with Mitchell stripping, especially when she learned he was performing at The Dog in the Pond's bingo night. Mitchell's cousin Lisa Loveday attended the bingo night and threatened to tell Walter about his side-gig, but it was Cleo's fear of him falling out of love with her that made him give it up. Mitchell befriended Cleo's friend, drag performer Scott Drinkwell. Mitchell ended up falling for Scott's alter ego "Anita Tinkle", causing Mitchell to develop a love/hate relationship with Scott. After Cleo had a bullimia relapse and the pair argued about Pete Buchanan, Mitchell ended up beginning an affair with Scott. Having been raised with Walter's homophobic views, Mitchell entered a cycle of turning against Scott before giving into his feelings for him. During a construction crane collapse in the village, Scott and Mitchell were left injured in the rubble of the Florist. Whilst Scott lay seriously injured in hospital, Cleo discovered that Mitchell and Scott had been having an affair. Mitchell chose Scott so a furious Cleo decided to leave the village. Afterwards, Mitchell moved back in with his family. Scott became annoyed as Mitchell kept their relationship behind closed doors and - despite accepting that Mitchell would receive a negative reaction from his family - ended their relationship.
2019-2020: Family Revelations
In November 2019, Mitchell's flat ended up being rented by 'husband-and-wife' Celeste and Toby Faroe, who kept a close eye on the Deveraux family. Toby broke into the Deverauxes flat and planted a photograph of Scott and Mitchell kissing in Walter's bible. Walter ended up disowning Mitchell and kicking him out of the house, causing Martine and Lisa to turn against Walter. Scott reconciled with Mitchell and asked him to move in with him. After a public fight with Walter, Martine purchased tickets for herself, Scott and Mitchell to go for a holiday in Spain. He returned to the village in time for his birthday party, in which Walter surprised all by making an appearance - but Toby issued the biggest shock when he revealed that he was Martine's son. Martine decided to tell Mitchell about his father, birth and siblings. After just coming to terms with the fact that he had a twin, Martine revealed that Mitchell was actually a triplet, soon realising that Celeste was actually his sister. Toby and Celeste grew desperate to find their father, eventually tracking down Felix Westwood. With Toby and Celeste not showing an interest in connecting with their family, Felix eagerly attempted to establish a relationship with Mitchell. In April 2020, Felix was beaten unconscious by Toby and Celeste framed Mitchell. Scott believed that Mitchell was innocent so Mitchell proposed to him, which Scott eventually accepted. However, Mitchell decided not to tell Walter about the wedding, which Toby took upon himself to do. Mitchell and Scott's wedding was held at Thornoak Hall. Walter initially intended to stop the wedding, but a conversation with Joel about his late brother Wilfred changed his mind, to Toby's fury. That evening, as Mitchell went off to bed, Toby grabbed a fireplace poker, went into the room Scott and Mitchell had booked, and beat the person under the duvet to death. However, Mitchell emerged from a different room as Scott did not want to have room 13. After the wedding, the family were interviewed by the police as Lisa had gone missing. In November 2020, Mitchell found the body of Toby's victim - Lisa - in the boot of their car in the garage. Toby and Celeste kidnapped Mitchell, telling him that they would frame him for her death if he did not leave the village. Mitchell followed their orders, leaving a devastated Scott behind.
•In December 2018, Imran Adams was announced to have been cast as Mitchell, the son of Martine Deveraux.
