I'm looking at roughly 1500 mithril and 920 steel bars to get some smithing xp going, what would be the best way to use these? I can make them into battle axes/whatever works and then carry them towards the Giants Foundry to do the minigame that way?

Also, just for the variety I’ve found blast mining to be a great way to get good ore. You can’t get ore up to 10 levels above your mining (runite at level 75) or adamant at your level.
