I would say at least 1 hour in the castle if you like to stop and read the information and 30 - 45 minutes in the gardens if you enjoy gardens. There is also a nice tea room where we spent a further 30 minutes.
The Inveraray Castle designed landscape provides the setting for over 100 listed buildings, more than 30 of which are ancillary to the castle. The pervading character is Gothick and rustic forms infused with classical order and proportion.
