But I was surprised at how good a perfectly ripe Red Delicious truly is. It's sweet, but not too sweet, juicy, and has delicate floral notes in it's flavour. This dainty floral, rosewater like taste is the highlight of a perfect Red Delicious apple, which usually has shiny smooth dark crimson skin.
