Dec 8, 2005 · "Syriana" is an endlessly fascinating movie about oil and money, America and China, traders and spies, the Gulf States and Texas, reform and revenge, bribery and betrayal. Its interlocking stories come down to one thing: There is less oil than the world requires, and that will make some people rich and others dead.
Now, Syriana is different. Yeah, some people will not understand it with a single viewing, but the acting is fantastic, the story is super interesting and relevant, and it is just a well made movie. I call it a thinking persons movie.
Syriana is a transcendent film. Review. I lived in UAE for a year and I also have some experience with the topics in this film. Syriana highlights the disparity between native Arabs and Asians in the Gulf Countries. Clooney really gives a voice to intel veterans who have served in the bureaucracy in this film.
Nov 23, 2005 · From writer/director Stephen Gaghan, winner of the Best Screenplay Academy Award for "Traffic," comes Syriana, a political thriller that unfolds against the intrigues and corruption of the global oil industry.
