My husband & I were fans of Crownies, which sadly ran for only 1 season despite being an excellent drama. Janet King is a 'spin off' series, incorporating a number of other characters from Crownies.

   • In this case I found "Janet King" (coming from Australia) to be a refresh take on the far too over populated legal drama series. In the US crimes are generally wrapped up in a single episode. This series doesn't do that. It moves the viewer through the season with the goal of solving the crime and saving the day happen at just the right time.

   Is Janet King a good character after 3 seasons?

   • After three seasons, Janet King's character is completely unrelatable to me. She does have more humanity earlier on (both earlier in season one itself and earlier in season one as compared to seasons two or three). But, she very quickly becomes so obsessed with work that it eclipses anyone of consequence in her life.
