Open to visitors since September 2009, the John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park features artwork by more than twenty of the world’s most celebrated artists. The park land is owned and maintained by the City of Des Moines, while the artworks are owned and maintained by the Des Moines Art Center.
The John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park is a 4.4-acre (1.8 ha) park within Western Gateway Park in Des Moines, Iowa. It opened in 2009 with 24 sculptures, with four more acquired later.

Established in 2009, Pappajohn Sculpture Park is one of Des Moines’ most beloved local parks. Named for local venture capitalist John Pappajohn and his wife Mary Louise Pappajohn, who gifted the park’s initial 24 sculptures.
