Mar 10, 2022 · On September 18, 1986, Jon Gould died at the age of thirty-three, after battling an extended illness. It later turned out to be AIDS, something which he didn’t disclose to anyone till the end. This was established by Pat Hackett in Warhol’s memoir in 1989, through an editor’s note she added.

May 27, 2020 · A little more than two years later, in September of 1986, Gould died from AIDS, at the age of thirty-three. Despite an age difference of twenty-five years, Gould and Warhol were involved for five years, traveling together, working together, and, for a short period, living together (fig. E).
Gould died of AIDS-related pneumonia at the age of 33 in Los Angeles on September 18, 1986. Warhol's collaborator Pat Hackett noted in The Andy Warhol Diaries that Gould "was down to seventy pounds and he was blind.
