Joyce Hooper Corrington, co-author with her late husband of the first four novels of the New Orleans Mystery series and solo author of the fifth, was born in Houston, TX, in 1936. She received a B.A. in 1958 and a B.S. in 1959 from Rice University, a M.S. from Louisiana State University in 1966, and a Ph.D. from Tulane University in 1968.
