Leadbetter Beach is a City beach located between the Santa Barbara Harbor and Shoreline Park, and across from Santa Barbara City College. Leadbetter Beach Park has rental picnic and barbecue sites, outdoor showers, restrooms, a grassy lawn, and convenient parking (in the paid City lot next to the park) to accompany your beach visit.
The grassy area runs along the beach and offers public restrooms, outdoor showers, picnic tables, and barbecues. Closest to Leadbetter Point, is a contained grass and barbecue area, ideal for private events. Leadbetter Beach Park has a small, free parking lot, and a large pay-lot.
Leadbetter is a popular surfing and BBQ beach. The point makes for good waves, and there are lots of picnic tables and BBQ pits on the lawn area between the parking lot and the sand. People go swimming here, and it's a nice place for walking, though kelp does wash up on the sand.
