Milo James Beers, 67, of Leslie, Michigan passed away on Monday, February 12th, after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife of 46 years, Denise E. Beers, immediate family members, and faithful dogs, Bobby and Matty.
He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Helen D. Caton and Ben Caton. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 31st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. John's Lutheran Church (1028 St Johns Rd, Irmo, SC 29063). Leslie Beers. Leslie Beers won the 158-pound title at the first NCAA Wrestling Championships in 1928, becoming the first University of Iowa wrestler to win a national title and earn All-American honors. He was also the first Iowa wrestler to win a Big Ten championship, finishing first in 1926 and 1928 and second in 1927.
