Abbey Bell (Melinda Page Hamilton) is the main protagonist villainess from the 2020 film, M.O.M.: Mothers of Monsters.
The film introduced Abbey Bell as a 42-year-old single mother of 16-year-old Jacob Bell, though throughout the film, Abbey records several videos documenting her suspicions that Jacob is a psychopath, fearing that he may plan a school shooting. Her suspicions were based on her personal experience; 30 years prior to the events, Abbey's older brother, Jerry, went on a murderous rampage and shot seven of his schoolmates to death before committing suicide.
Jerry was 16 at the time, the same age as Jacob in the film's events, while the film established Jacob of having anti-social tendencies and engaging in arguments with Abbey. Abbey had reported Jacob's behavior in the past, though mental health experts credited his demeanor as "just being a teenager," leading to Abbey planting spy cameras around the house (including and especially Jacob's room) to monitor her son's behavior. All the while, Abbey is revealed to be on medication herself, though it is never made exactly clear why.
Abbey was freed by a gas-mask wearing Jacob, who later tased his mother and locked her in the closet. It was there that Abbey revealed her late brother's backstory, while stating that she was mainly angry over Jerry not taking her for one more ride in his Mustang before she had the chance to say goodbye, as well as apologizing to her son for not bringing up Jerry to him, despite Jacob revealing earlier in his plan that he found out about his uncle from the internet. Later in the film's climax, Jacob engaged in Part 2 of the re-write, where he orders Abbey to read from his script. Abbey refused at first, but later gave in and read from the script: again stating that she is a psychopath and that Jacob won't kill her (or anyone), she would, with a noose set up for by Jacob for his mother to commit suicide.
Abbey later stated that the ending won't happen, and that Jacob would let her out of the closet and erase all of the footage (hers and Jacob's), only for Jacob to jokingly threaten to shoot up a school just as his mother suspected. Jacob ordered Abbey to repeat the lines again, only for Abbey to turn off the camera instead. Later on, Jacob returned to see his mother's face and hands covered with wires, stating that she couldn't do it anymore before reaching for the electrically charged doorknob, much to Jacob's shock and worry. Jacob rushed to free his mother, while sobbing over the possibility that the electrocution may have killed her.
