Major (stylized as MAJOR) is a Japanese sports manga series written and illustrated by Takuya Mitsuda. It was serialized in Shogakukan 's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Sunday from August 1994 to July 2010, with its chapters collected in 78 tankōbon volumes.
Major is a 2004 Japanese anime television series based on Takuya Mitsuda's award-winning manga series of the same name. Produced by Studio Hibari and later by SynergySP, the series aired in Japan on NHK Educational TV from November 13, 2004 to September 25, 2010.

The story follows the life of Goro Honda. From childhood to adulthood, he aims to be the best professional baseball player, seeking and challenging tremendous adversities.
Main Characters
1. Goro Honda is the main protagonist of the series. Now renamed as Goro Shigenoafter his new mother married his father's best friend. 2. Toshiya Satois the deuteragonist of the series. He is Goro's best friend since childhood and catching rival as he rises through the leagues. 3. Kaoru Shimizuis the heroine of the series. She has a crush on Goro since they first met in elementary, a trait that continues through the story till they get married and have 2 children in the epilogue.
