Joe Brown stars as a young working class lad and aspiring songwriter in this pop-infused musical, hanging out with n'er-do-well mate Marty Wilde and navigating an on-off relationship with girlfriend Susan Maughan in early 60s London, directed and co-written by Hammer alumni Michael Carreras with Alan Klein, on whose stage production it was based.
