The Stargate is an album by Norwegian solo artist Mortiis that was scheduled for release with the book Secrets of My Kingdom, alongside a limited gold press version of the CD, which was for unknown reasons later released in 2001, prior to The Smell of Rain.
The Stargate is the final release from Mortiis’ Era 1, his final faux-medieval ambient album, and his finest work. Not only is it a personal favourite, but it is also an incredibly rich, detailed composition, vast in its scope and sumptuous in its presentation.
