Dec 16, 2011 · Oscar Schmidt’s OU55CE is a baritone ukulele made of koa. MSRP is $509 but most online shops are selling it for under $300. But I got mine for free from Oscar Scmidt to try it out. I played the ukulele with the stock Aquila strings tuned to DGBE and also with Worth strings (a CH-LGHD set).

Aug 1, 2020 · The Oscar Schmidt OU58 baritone ukulele features beautiful spalted maple throughout, along with a traditional rosewood bridge and maple binding to match the body. The gold covered geared tuning machines are a nice touch, and the nut and saddle are of NuBone.
My shop sells Oscar Schmidt ukuleles. The mahogany ones are too stiff for me, and sound the same way. However, I’m really enjoying the Spruce sopranos and concerts (OU3 and OU13). They play very smoothly, have a soft texture, and a warm sound. My only complaint is that tuning them can be obnoxious.
