Paradise is a 1982 Canadian adventure-romance film written and directed by Stuart Gillard (in his directorial debut). It stars Phoebe Cates, Willie Aames, and Tuvia Tavi. Synopsis. In the Victorian period, David (Willie Aames) and Sarah (Phoebe Cates), two teenagers, travel with a caravan from Baghdad to Damascus. At an oasis, the white slave agent known as the 'Jackal' raids them, mainly to add the beautiful young Sarah to his harem of mistresses.
Phoebe Cates. Actress: Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Phoebe Belle Cates was born on July 16, 1963 in New York City, New York, and raised there. She is the daughter of Lily and Joseph Cates, who was a Broadway producer and television pioneer. Her uncle was director/producer Gilbert Cates.
During production, Cates and Aames decided that the picture did not require the amount of nudity that had been written into the script. She turned 18 ten months prior to release. So it is very questionable on her age at the time of filming the nude scenes.
