Mar 22, 2011 · It was an excellent series when it appeared on BBC twenty years ago. It still stands up well. The story is of a new British ambassador to Ireland (played by Pauline Collins) and her run-ins with an Irish Foreign Minister. Some of the situations, Cults, Fisheries Disputes, Cross-border Gangs among others, of the 1990's are quite valid today.
