It's a tragic fall from grace for Michael, manipulated into a world that he knew nothing about and outplayed at every turn. Tommy is now looking at Charlie and Duke and realising he doesn't want to make the same mistake that happened with Michael - it's a tragic character arc to watch unfold over these seasons.
In the 81-minute tension-filled episode, Tommy and the Shelbys finally get the ending that perhaps no one saw coming.
